Our Story
Great wine requires careful planning, a skilled team - and a lot of luck
When we first moved to Napa, we were blown away by the natural beauty and the sheer quantity of growing things.
But that’s what everyone says when they show up here.
After spending a few years working in the industry, we made a few observations:
If winegrowers like you, you can get access to spectacular fruit - even if you’re not a billionaire (though that def helps).
Many of the most famous California winemakers work through assistant winemakers, oenologists, and cellar masters who serve as their hands, eyes, and ears. In that context, there are a large array of up-and-coming winemaking talent whose names will be on $500 bottles twenty years from now. We found one such person to do our winemaking who was far better at her job than we deserved.
Timing is everything. When you’re a wine brand just starting out (as we are,) you can’t afford to “bulk out” lots that don’t work perfectly; you can’t have any throwaway seasons. The 2018 was our inaugural vintage, and trying to avoid sounding conceited, but we fucking nailed it.
